My love for Tuscaloosa runs deep. I received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English in 2014 and later obtained my Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Education and Public Policy. I have served more than 8 years in Education and Nonprofit Management. I also volunteer with several civic and faith-based organizations, such as the Benjamin Barnes YMCA Advisory Council, Junior League of Tuscaloosa, Eta Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and as the Assistant Director of the Youth Department at New Harvest Church of God Children. My husband, Corey Waldon, and I have been married for 5 years and are proud parents of Kylar Faith. Our shared love of education led us to establish a free afterschool program for Tuscaloosa Youth-LIFT Academy. I live by the quote, “Be the Change you Wish to See in the World.
