Estella Hare,
BBI4RR Treasurer

As an accounting manager at the City of Tuscaloosa, my responsibilities include evaluating and maintaining financial data in the Accounting and Finance department while overseeing the City's payroll, bank reconciliations, and the agency grant funding. I'm also involved with the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, Junior League of Tuscaloosa, Stillman College Women College Council, Young Leaders Society of West Alabama, and Rock City Church. In 2020, I was honored to have been selected as a "Top 40 Under 40" recipient in Tuscaloosa. I became interested in Building Bridges after learning more about the organization's mission and its goal of collaborating with similar organizations to educate the community on race and its history. I believe the Tuscaloosa community deserves a society where every culture can be celebrated, cultivated, and expressed freely. Therefore, having the necessary conversations within the community to acknowledge and recognize the current social system is crucial in building a more inclusive, justifiable, and fair society for the future.

Mission and Location

Building Bridges Institute for Racial Reconciliation is a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to address the damaging effects of Racism as both a social construct and lived experience by holding seminars and facilitating conversations in the Tuscaloosa Community.
